almost impossible

eating crackers thru your nose
it's harder than you would suppose
but harder still and harder yet
is catching airplanes in a net

i have tried, a time or two
to eat a football with one chew
my mouth is not that big around
and then there is that hissing sound

i've tried, have you, to overinflate
a zeppelin with too much hate
you want to wear your nicest gown
when all that noise comes screaming down

today i try a thing or two
a bird, a brick, the ocean blue
and if i live my flirt with death
i'll tell the tale in just one breath
