wet pomes

i left the pomes in my brain
and they got very wet
i could try telling one to you
but you might get upset

i curled the pomes around my toes
to get them down the stairs
i could tell one or two to you
but that won't end your cares

i put the pomes in my eye
to keep them in sure sight
i could recite them all to you
but it doesn't feel right

i put the pomes on a shelf
and left them there for you
you didn't take them from that spot
and i forgot them too
